Anime Reviews

I get asked all the time on stream, “What anime do you watch?”—so I figured it’s time to start sharing. I’ve been an anime nerd for years, and let’s be honest… I watch way more of it than I probably should. But as a digital pastor and full-time content creator, I also can’t help thinking about what these shows say about life, faith, meaning, trauma, power, and whatever else they throw at us between explosions. These reviews aren’t full essays—just quick snapshots: what it’s about, where to watch it, and whether it’s worth your time

Each review includes a few core ratings:
Story – ⭐ (Wait, what? Ugh.) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Whooa. That changed me.)
Animation – ⭐ (Was this done in MS Paint?) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Every frame could be wallpaper.)
• Talk Value – ⭐ (Tell no one / Utterly void of meaning.) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (I won’t shut up about this for a while.)
• Emotional Damage – ⭐ (No Feels) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (It broke me. Everything hurts. Please help.)

Izuku is a powerless dreamer in a world where almost everyone has superpowers but after a legendary hero gives him his own, he enrolls in a school for heroes.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Animation

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Talk Value

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Emotional Damage

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

A high-powered shonen with surprising emotional depth. While it has typical anime tropes (training arcs, rivalries, big villains), it consistently delivers heartfelt moments, standout characters, and thoughtful worldbuilding. Not perfect, but deeply engaging.
